ACHIEVEMENTS IN
SUSTAINABILITY:

- Awarded the most sustainable large company in Croatia for two consecutive years – 2023 and 2024
- Ecovadis 2024:
Awarded a silver medal. - Transitioning from non-recyclable packaging to recyclable solutions (e.g., PET/PE → PE/PE).
- Reducing film thickness to save material, space, transportation costs, and CO₂ emissions.
- Plastic recycling permit: We can recycle 4,500 tons annually, focusing on post-industrial waste.
- 100% of the electricity used at Muraplast comes from renewable sources.
- Installed solar panels: 1,697 kWp (1,273 kW DC).
- Reduction in natural gas usage:
Utilizing waste heat from RTO (Regenerative Thermal Oxidizer). - Eco-labels Plastica Seconda Vita (for recycled plastic content) and Blue Angel (for plastic and paper bags).

The Muraplast Action Plan 2030 defines the activities we will undertake to achieve our sustainability goals.
The journey to 2030 includes initiatives to reduce emissions, enhance recyclability, and foster partnerships that strengthen our vision for a more sustainable packaging industry.

- From 1.1.2024 all paper packaging (boxes, cores) carries an FSC label on invoices
- All paper used as raw material (the remaining 5%) can have the FSC marking -> EUDR ready from 30.12.2025
- As raw material only European paper

At the end of 2023, MURAPLAST set greenhouse gas emission reduction targets through the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aligned with the levels needed to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement.

The targets covering the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from MURAPLAST’s operations (Scope 1 and 2) are in line with the reductions needed to keep warming to 1.5°C, which is what the latest climate science has told us is essential to prevent the most damaging effects of climate change.
